As a condition of Northern Beaches Netball Pty Ltd “(NBN” )or The Academy Netball Club INC “(ANC”) agreeing to accept my registration
I AGREE to be bound by the rules and regulations of the relevant organisation, including paying all fees when due.
I ACCEPT that I must participate in activities conducted by NBN or ANC entirely at my own risk.
In particular, I ACKNOWLEDGE that areas of the timber sports floor on which indoor Netball activities are conducted will from time to time be slippery as a result of condensation, spilt drinks, sweat from participants or spot leaks in roof structures during or following heavy rain.
I ACCEPT the risks of injury that come with participating in a ball sport with multiple participants moving rapidly and sometimes unpredictably across such a floor surface and I HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS NBN & ANC, (officer employees, Contact contractors members & volunteers) FROM ANY LIABILITY IN TORT OR CONTRACT for any death, personal injury or property damage however caused arising out of my participation in any activities conducted by NBN & ANC. I note that the words “ Participation” or “Participate” includes training, practising ,playing, coaching, officiating or observing an activity

FORFEITS
FLAGRANT VIOLATIONS
When a person or team disregards rules, policies or attempts to manipulate or exploits loopholes to gain unfair advantages or benefits, demonstrating a wilful or deliberate intent to contravene the rules. Official outcomes for these violations include Immediate action such as suspensions or being prohibited from returning to our competitions, game disqualification or point removal. Management retains the right to make all final decisions regarding this ruling.
CAUTIONS, WARNINGS & SUSPENTIONS
Cautions, warnings and suspensions are issued by the umpire or Management for certain infractions. Common cautionable offenses include persistent rule infringements, unsporting behaviour, dissent towards officials and dangerous or reckless play. When a player receives a caution, they must leave the court for two minutes, during which time their team plays with one fewer player. If a player receives a second caution in the same game, it becomes a suspension, and the player must leave the court for the remainder of the match.
After thorough discussion, the board may issue specific rulings for cautioned players. These rulings are aimed at maintaining fair play and upholding the integrity of Northern Beaches Netball competitions. Players are expected to abide by these rulings, and any violation may result in further disciplinary action.
RECKLESS PLAY
Reckless play in netball refers to actions by a player that are performed without regard for the safety of others or the rules of the game. This can include dangerous or aggressive actions such as charging into opponents, using excessive force when contesting the ball, or making contact with an opponent in a manner that could cause injury. Reckless play often results in penalties or cautions from the umpire or management.
DANGEROUS PLAY
Dangerous play in netball refers to actions by a player that pose a risk of injury to themselves or others on the court. This can include actions such as intentionally tripping an opponent, making contact with an opponent's head or neck area, or using excessive force when contesting for the ball, or simply making an unreasonable play for the ball that could lead to injury. Dangerous play is a serious offense in netball and typically results in penalties or sanctions from the umpire, or management such as a free pass or even a caution or suspension, depending on the severity or repetition of the action.
FOUL PLAY
Foul play in netball refers to any action by a player that violates the rules of the game. This can include physical contact with an opponent, obstruction, deliberate footwork violations, or other infractions outlined in the official rules of netball. Foul play can result in penalties, such as free passes or turnovers, and repeated or serious fouls may lead to cautions or suspensions from the match.
UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEVHAVIOUS
Unsportsmanlike behaviour, including but not limited to, verbal abuse towards opponents or officials, deliberate provocation, or any action deemed detrimental to the spirit of fair play, will result in a caution from the umpire. Persistent unsportsmanlike behaviour may lead to further disciplinary action, including expulsion from the game
RESPONSIBILITY OF CAPTAINS
The captain of each team shall act as the official representative and spokesperson for their team. They are responsible for communicating with the umpires and management on behalf of their team, including addressing any concerns or queries regarding rule interpretations or decisions. The captain is also tasked with maintaining discipline and sportsmanship among their teammates, ensuring adherence to the rules of the game and promoting fair play. In the event of a dispute or disciplinary issue, the captain may be called upon by the umpires or management to assist in resolving the matter.
MANAGEMENT & BOARD DECISONS
All decisions made by the Northern Beaches Netball board and management team, including league policies, match schedules, and disciplinary matters, are considered final and binding for all participating teams and players. These rulings are established to ensure the smooth operation and fair conduct of our social netball competitions. Teams and players are expected to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the board and to respect the authority of the board members.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
In the event of a conflict between a participating team or player and the decisions made by the Northern Beaches Netball board, a refund of league fees or registration costs may be offered upon review of the situation. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing and accompanied by a detailed explanation of the dispute. The Northern Beaches Netball board will review the request and determine eligibility for a refund based on the circumstances and adherence to league policies. Refunds, if granted, will be issued at the discretion of the board and may be subject to administrative fees or deductions. This policy ensures transparency and fairness in resolving conflicts between participants and the governing body of Northern Beaches Netball.
FILMING IS PROHIBITED
Filming or recording of individuals without their explicit consent is strictly prohibited on the premises of Northern Beaches Netball. This rule is in place to uphold the privacy and security of all members, visitors, and employees. Any violation of this rule may result in disciplinary action
CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY
All correspondence, whether electronic or physical, between members, officials, or representatives of Northern Beaches Netball is considered confidential. This includes but is not limited to emails, letters, and messages exchanged via any communication platform. Breaching confidentiality by sharing, disclosing, or disseminating such correspondence without proper authorization is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary or legal action.
- Standard 7-a-side netball rules and regulations.
- 2 x 18 minute halves with a 2 min Half time.
- Bibs, balls and umpires are provided.
- No uniforms are required. However, you are required to wear tops to cover undergarments.
- A $250 deposit is required for new teams.
- The early bird discount of $100 is available only if you pay before the start of the competition.
- $25 is paid directly by teams to one umpire each game.
RULES - General
- Players must sign the scoresheet before taking the court. Scoresheets will be used to prove finals eligibility.
- Players must have played at least 3 games with their team to qualify for semi and grand finals. This included borrowed players.
- Players filling in for a team in their grade or lower are only allowed to play WA or WD.
- Players are not permitted to take the court under the influence of alcohol.
- Players displaying Unsportsmanlike Behaviour or Flagrant Violations can be suspended or banned from the competition.
- Jewellery is not to be worn. Fit bits can be covered with a sweat band. If you cannot get your jewellery off you may tape it.
- Nails are to be short or you will be asked to cut them. You can wear sports gloves. If you cannot cut your nails you will be asked to tape them.
- Players should bring their own tape however, some is available at reception if you do forget.
- If you believe you have a serious injury you are required to fill in the Injury Book at reception. Please proceed to get further care and assessment of injury. Please note that AMBULANCES are an EMERGENCY life saving service.
FORFEITS
- Teams are strongly encouraged not to forfeit. Please use our Facebook groups NORTHERN BEACHES NETBALL MEMBERS and NORTHERN BEACHES MIXED NETBALL Pages to find replacement players and adhere to the Borrowed Player rules.

- FORFEITING ON FACEBOOK OR EMAIL IS NOT PERMITTED.
- A Forfeit fee of $25 is payable each forfeit the next round.
